National Ocean Industries Association Remembers Lives Lost in Macondo Tragedy

Washington – On the anniversary of the Macondo tragedy, Randall Luthi, President of the National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) issued the following statement:

“Today we remember the 11 men who lost their lives a year ago in the Gulf of Mexico and our thoughts go out to their families and loved ones.  Our industry will always remember the tragic loss of Jason Anderson, Dale Burkeen, Donald Clark, Stephen Curtis, Gordon Jones, Roy Wyatt Kemp, Karl Kleppinger, Blair Manuel,  Dewey Revette,  Shane Roshto and Adam Weise.

“In the wake of this tragedy, it is appropriate for our industry to continue an intensive, thorough, collective and cooperative self-examination.  We honor their memory by remaining committed to an environment of safety and accident prevention that will guard against a future tragedy.”
