Jeff Landry was born and raised in St. Martinville.

General Landry worked his way through college as a police officer and a sheriff’s deputy. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, General Landry and a friend started an oil and gas environmental service company.

Upon earning his juris doctorate, General Landry returned to Acadiana – where as a business attorney in Lafayette, he spent his days in the legal trenches helping employers create jobs. Utilizing his background in economic development, General Landry helped businesses navigate the complexities of our legal environment.

In 2010, General Landry was elected to the United States House of Representatives where he was named the 3rd most Conservative member. In 2015, he was elected to be Louisiana’s Attorney General and he is currently serving as President of the National Association of Attorneys General.
