SUMMARY:US Offshore Wind 2023
DESCRIPTION:The US offshore wind boom has been supercharged by the federal government’s incentives\, yet every breakthrough has been diminished by a gridlock of industry pressures. \nAt this critical inflection point for offshore wind\, the challenges are clear: \n·   Permit-to-project processes must be fast-tracked.\n·   Turbine and grid technology must grow and modernize.\n·   Governmental support and financing methods must be clarified. \nOnly when these blockers are relieved can the supply chain capitalize on the $70 billion CAPEX opportunity and reap the rewards. \nBy uniting the most influential players\, we can alleviate regulatory pressures\, reinvent cost strategies\, and unleash project buildout. \nThe time is now – seize the biggest era of offshore wind and capitalize on 1000GW of untapped project pipeline at Reuters Events: US Offshore Wind 2023.

SUMMARY:FT Energy Source Live
DESCRIPTION:What’s next for America’s transformation? \nSoaring energy prices and the spectre of energy shortages in recent times have been stark reminders that the road to cleaner energy is far from smooth. The FT Energy Source Live summit will take a deep dive into the issues set to reshape the US energy industry in the years ahead\, and ask what's next for America’s energy transformation. \nJoin industry CEOs\, thought leaders\, energy innovators\, policymakers\, investors and our world-class FT journalists to hear their expert insights. On a series of panels and roundtable discussions\, they’ll look at the future of gas\, tackling the methane challenge\, how oil and gas pipelines will adapt to a lower-carbon world\, before examining alternatives and opportunities in powering the US’s future in new energy industries from offshore wind to new nuclear and the rapidly transforming US midstream. Above all\, they’ll ask whether the US can lead in the burgeoning new energy markets of the future. \nREGISTRATION \nDirect Registration Link: \nhttps://on.ft.com/34DxQ9j \nMust use code NOIA for 20% discount \nKey Discussion Topics\nDecarbonisation strategies \nThe wave of high energy prices and supply shortages in Europe\, as well as the COP26 international climate negotiations have important implications for America’s energy transformation. What's next for the US energy markets? \nProspects for US LNG and the future of gas \nRecent supply and demand dislocations have left the world crying out for US oil and gas. Will we see a new boom in US LNG? Will demand hold long enough to justify LNG expansion and investment? \nIs there a significant role for the US in the global hydrogen markets  of the future? \nUS policymakers have recently set out a ‘Hydrogen Shot’ initiative to slash the cost of green hydrogen by 80 per cent to $1 per kilogramme in the coming 10 years. How achievable is the US ‘Hydrogen Shot’ target? \nCarbon removal and management in the US \nIs carbon removal at gigaton scale possible? What is the investment case and the business model for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and Direct Air Capture (DAC)\, and can they be viable? \nTackling the Methane Challenge \nHow will the measures impact US oil & gas production\, as well as prices? Will new rules lead to higher energy prices for consumers\, or ultimately create value in new revenue streams in greener gas and job creation? \nOffshore wind in the US - powering America’s green energy future? \nWhat role will offshore wind play in the Biden Administration’s plans to decarbonise the power sector by 2035 and to reduce emissions by 50% from 2005 levels by 2030?

SUMMARY:Reuters: Future of Oil & Gas 2021
DESCRIPTION:2021 & Beyond: More Energy\, Less Carbon\nIn a pre-pandemic world\, upstream O&G’s short and long-term futures were largely synonymous; with the former simply informing the latter. Now\, with supermajor E&Ps shifting course into a net zero future\, there is major disparity in what the next few years hold for the industry compared with the next few decades. \nThis discord is based on a dual challenge that the entire industry must face: How do we meet growing global energy demand and simultaneously reduce carbon emissions in the hope for a more sustainable future? \nIn 2021 alone the IEA expects: \n\nGlobal energy demand to increase by 4.6%.\nCarbon emissions to jump by 1.5 billion metric tons\n\nFuture of Oil & Gas 2021 offers a full spectrum of responses to this challenge from supermajor operators to independents; from oilfield service companies to global tech providers; from consultants to governors. \nFOG21 provides the opportunity to piece together your own picture of impending marketing trends and drivers and expose oil and gas’ true potential.

SUMMARY:NOIA ESG Webinar: Repurposing Offshore Oil and Gas Facilities for Alternative Uses\, Including Zero and Low Carbon Solutions
DESCRIPTION:With the new administration's announcement of 30 GW of offshore wind power by 2030 (a moon-shot effort)\, it's aggressive climate goals\, and BOEM's recent Request for Interest (RFI) in Commercial Leasing for Wind Power Development on the Gulf of Mexico Outer Continental Shelf (GOM OCS)\, the potential for re-purposing some of the GOM infrastructure has gained momentum.  At the same time\, with 1688 platforms remaining in the GOM and 318 of those platforms on expired oil and gas leases\, BSEE is turning up the pressure on both current platform owners and their predecessors to take action. \nWhen Congress passed the Energy Policy Act of 2005\, they seemingly foresaw this conundrum and included Section 388 to instruct the Secretary of Interior to allow the GOM infrastructure to be used "for energy-related purposes or for other authorized marine-related purposes".  BOEM's predecessor (MMS) prepared a Programmatic EIS in 2007\, and BOEM promulgated regulations at 30 CFR 585 Subpart J in 2012.  The Gulf Offshore Research Institute (GORI) has been researching the feasibility and process for re-purposing the end-of-life infrastructure.  Kent Satterlee\, Executive Director of GORI\, will share some of the work GORI has undertaken to determine both the ecological and beneficial uses of the infrastructure and what opportunities exist for platform and pipeline owner/operators. \nRegister Now
