Dear NOIA Members,
The NOIA 2019 Fall Meeting comes at a pivotal time for NOIA and the offshore industry. The offshore industry is steadily improving, new opportunities are on the horizon and NOIA is amidst new changes.
While oil prices remain stubbornly low, more and more experts are finally predicting tangible improvements for the industry over the next few years. Offshore investments, employment and the services market, among other indicators, are expected to dramatically improve this year. Offshore wind projects are also moving forward, bringing new opportunities for many companies that traditionally serviced the oil and gas industry.
However, the entire offshore energy industry will continue to face strong political headwinds. Virtually all of the Democratic presidential candidates support the Green New Deal, or one of the many copycat deals, and pledge to ban future oil and natural gas leasing on federal lands and waters and prohibit seismic exploration. In addition, offshore moratoria legislation and other energy killing policies have been – and will continue to be – pushed in the House of Representatives.
As we sprint towards the finish of the 2019-2020 election cycle, it is crucial that NOIA stand as the unifying voice for of the entire offshore energy industry. Our nation needs reality-based energy policies and energy solutions that benefit every American. The offshore energy industry has the expertise and know-how to deliver real energy results and NOIA is the voice policymakers need to hear.
To that end, it is my pleasure to invite you to the 2019 NOIA Fall Meeting in Colorado Springs, CO. Energy leaders, political pollsters, business experts and national security insiders will join us as we prepare for the coming changes. Just as importantly, we expect to welcome a new NOIA president to Colorado Springs.
As always, the sessions will provide NOIA members with a balanced mix of engaging speakers, informative sessions and can’t-miss networking time and member activities.
I look forward to seeing you at the beautiful Broadmoor,
