Washington, DC — National Ocean Industries Association President Erik Milito issued the following statement after the conclusion of the Big Beautiful Gulf 3 offshore oil and gas lease sale. There were 69 bids on 59 blocks with 16 companies participating. Total high bids were $82.6 million.

Today's lease sale is about far more than today's bids. It's about ensuring America has the energy it needs to keep prices affordable, strengthen national security, and power economic growth for decades to come.

Offshore energy is a long-term business. The energy Americans rely on depends on the leasing and investment decisions we make today. A predictable leasing program gives companies the confidence to invest billions of dollars in projects that will sustain domestic production, strengthen supply chains, and reduce reliance on foreign energy.

The Gulf of America remains one of the world's premier offshore energy regions because of its world-class resources, unmatched workforce, and decades of innovation. Continued access to prospective acreage helps keep that competitive advantage here at home, supporting high-paying jobs, generating revenue for taxpayers, and reinforcing America's energy leadership.

A strong offshore leasing program benefits every American. More domestic energy production means a more secure nation, a stronger economy, and a more affordable and reliable energy future. NOIA appreciates the Administration's continued commitment to providing the long-term certainty needed to keep America producing.
