NOIA Leadership
Founded in 1972 with 33 members, the National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) represents all facets of the domestic offshore energy industry and its related businesses. Today, NOIA members are dedicated to the safe development of offshore energy — including oil and gas, wind, ocean minerals, and carbon capture and storage — for the continued growth and security of the United States.
Our membership spans the full offshore energy value chain — from operators large and small to the drilling contractors, service companies, and marine vessel and transport providers that support offshore operations; the geological and geophysical contractors and equipment suppliers that enable exploration and development; and the environmental consultants, gas transmission companies, navigation specialists, research and technology firms, and shipyards that keep the industry running safely and efficiently.
NOIA was founded to pursue three basic purposes:
- To promote the common business interests of the members of the offshore and ocean-oriented industries.
- To support legislation and other governmental action that is fair to the offshore and ocean-oriented industries and to counsel against such action when it is not fair.
- To expand the role of the free enterprise system in the development of the ocean's resources.
