Aker Solutions

Aker Solutions is headquartered in Oslo, Norway and traces its origins to 1841 where it started as a small mechanical workshop. Today, Aker Solutions provides the products and systems needed for oil, natural gas and offshore wind energy production across the world. Aker Solutions employs 15,000 people stretched across 53 sites in 20 countries spread throughout Africa, the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe.

Aker Solutions has broad expertise, allowing it to tackle projects from subsea to surface and concept to decommissioning in environments ranging from shallow to ultra-deep and tropical to arctic. This experience means Aker Solutions can deliver products and services throughout the lifecycle of the oil field.

Aker Solutions provides subsea production equipment and offshore field design, ranging from concept studies and front-end engineering to subsea production systems. Aker Solutions carries out maintenance and modifications work, provides services during operations, and also delivers solutions to extend the lifetime of oil and gas fields.

The company also prides itself on its corporate responsibility (CR) culture. The company’s global CR strategy revolves around four integral areas: people, integrity, the environment and society. By integrating these CR areas into their internal governance systems, Aker Solutions is making sustainable business decisions that benefit the company, stakeholders and society.

In the U.S., Aker Solutions has offices in Houston and Mobile, Alabama. Located on the quayside of the Gulf of Mexico, the facility in Alabama is home to a service and subsea equipment manufacturing base, and the world’s largest umbilicals facility. Since opening in 2003, the facility has produced over 1,500 miles of umbilicals for use in projects around the world. The Houston office, with Front End engineering and business development teams, serves as the U.S. headquarters for Aker Solutions.

Aker Solutions’ recent track record speaks for itself. In the Johan Sverdrup field offshore Norway, Aker Solutions is helping to bring online Norway’s largest industrial project in three decades – a project that will, at its peak, produce 25% of all Norwegian oil. At the Equinor-operated Åsgard field, also offshore Norway, Aker Solutions delivered the world’s first subsea compression system. In the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, Aker Solutions is providing subsea equipment including dynamic and static umbilicals to LLOG’s Buckskin project.
