Cultivating Legislative Relationships
The National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA)
wields the combined clout of every one of its member
companies as it advocates before Congress and the
Executive Branch and influences industry-related policy
decisions.
NOIA facilitates member access to regulatory and
legislative processes, provides customized advice on
policy issues and works to favorably impact policy
decisions relating to the offshore industry.
NOIA builds solid working relationships with legislators
and their staff through its staff, its members and its
political action committee.
National leaders are frequently
invited to speak at NOIA
meetings.
Each spring a meeting is held
in Washington, D.C., to better
facilitate interaction between
NOIA members and policy
makers in Congress and the
Executive Branch.
Facilitating Industry Relationships
NOIA represents all facets of the domestic offshore
energy and related industries and is dedicated to the
safe development of offshore energy for the continued
growth and security of the United States.
NOIA hosts the two largest annual gatherings of senior
executives in the offshore energy industry. Members
meet in the spring and fall to discuss important
offshore energy issues and hear not only from those
organizations that directly work within the industry but
those outside who affect the industry.
NOIA also engages well-known policy makers and
pundits to speak at its meetings.
While the meetings are purpose-
driven, they also provide an
opportunity for members to
network with fellow senior level
executives from the broad
spectrum of the offshore energy
industry.

NOIA is actively using social media to drive the discussion

about energy security.
NOIA also promotes and supports
outreach programs that educate the

the Offshore Energy Center and the
Center for Offshore Safety.
In addition, for more than 35 years,
NOIA has presented the Safety in the
Seas Award to a company which by
its actions, design or influence has
contributed to improving the safety
of life offshore.
