Katja Akentieva serves as the Vice President of New Energy Solutions for Western Hemisphere at TGS. She has over twenty years of experience in the energy industry, with exposure across the diverse, and global, technologically driven environment. Her competencies include value and revenue creation, investment risk management, digital transformation, technology, and marketing.
In her current role, Katja is leading the efforts of leveraging companies’ capabilities to grow the new energy portfolio and providing strategic direction for company’s business diversification initiatives. This includes offshore wind, solar, geothermal and CCS technology.
During her twelve-year tenure with TGS, Katja held various executive roles, most recently she led investment strategies in onshore North America.
Prior to TGS, Katja spent twelve years with Schlumberger where she grew her expertise in offshore operations and technology development.
Katja holds an MSc. in Geophysics from Moscow State University and an MBA from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. She recently completed certification from Stanford University on Energy Innovation and Renewable Technologies.
Katja resides in Houston, Texas.
