NOIA Member Spotlight
Founded in 1997, Exmar Offshore Company (EOC) is located near the Energy Corridor of Houston, Texas and part of the Antwerp based Exmar nv group. Founding members of the company had decades of experience in drilling, production, and accommodations, allowing EOC to quickly become and remain a proven performer in the offshore industry. Exmar Offshore efficiently delivers cost effective, fit-for-purpose solutions utilizing experience, expertise, and innovation. We rely on these strengths, as well as boldness and self-belief, to turn our ideas into reality.
Since the beginning of the new millennium, Exmar Offshore has been a leader in the design, construction, commissioning, crewing, and maintenance of offshore accommodation barges to specifically serve the offshore market of Western Africa. Exmar owns the WARIBOKO, KISSAMA and NUNCE accommodation and field service barges. Exmar operates, crews, refurbishes, and maintains these units for international and national oil companies. Exmar's units have a reputation for safe and cost effective service with some of the world’s most demanding operators.
Anticipating the demand for a cost effective, minimum-cycle-time facility which is re-deployable, Exmar's OPTI® series of semisubmersibles have been designed as an optimized and flexible solution for deepwater floating production developments. Features of the OPTI® design include unique 5-sided columns connected to a ring-pontoon which provide superior motion characteristics, reduced steel weights, and allow for the use of Exmar's FAST™ (Fully-Aligned Stress joint Trimming) riser pull-in method. EOC believes in the value of partnership, from initial concept, up to and including full turnkey EPCI of EOC-designed OPTI®-based floating production systems solutions.
EOC provides a wide range of professional services to the marine oil and gas industry. Expertise in engineering, project and construction management, and operation of offshore facilities means that our people can meet your needs throughout all phases of a project and the asset lifecycle. In addition to the OPTI® series, EOC has developed and holds intellectual property rights to two drillship designs, four semisubmersible MODU designs and a recently designed harsh-environment semisubmersible. Whether it is new concept development, repair or upgrade of an existing vessel, or marine-qualification of new technologies, EOC’s commitment to quality and partnership achieves results for our clients.
The proof is operating now offshore in the U. S. Gulf of Mexico: the OPTI-EX®, delivered in 2011 and producing at the Who Dat field; the Delta House, delivered in 2014 and producing since 2015, both for LLOG Exploration. Through the expertise and experience of our people, commitment to partnership with our clients, and our spirit of bold innovation, EOC delivers solutions that maximize value in today’s challenging environment.
