National Ocean Industries Association Announces Reorganization and New Staff

Washington, D.C. – The National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) has expanded and reorganized its staff to better serve its members. Under the leadership of NOIA President Randall Luthi, NOIA’s staff directors are now  vice-presidents and department heads. NOIA has also brought on three new hires.  The reorganized NOIA staff is as follows:

President - Randall Luthi

Executive Assistant to the President - Faith Burns (new hire)

Senior Vice President for Administration & Membership - Franki Stuntz

Vice President for Conferences & Special Events - Ann Chapman

Vice President for Policy & Government Affairs - Luke Johnson

Vice President for Intergovernmental & Political Affairs - Jeff Vorberger (new hire)

Vice President for Communications & External Relations - Nicolette Nye

Director of Public Affairs – Robert Myers (new hire)

Summer Intern – John Mehr

Jeff Vorberger comes to NOIA as the VP for Intergovernmental and Political Affairs after working in the private sector, most recently as Executive VP at Keystone Public Affairs for both onshore and offshore energy industries, and prior to that as a Senior VP at FTI Consulting. Jeff also previously served as Director of Government Relations at NOIA.  He brings with him an additional 10 years of Capitol Hill experience as the Legislative Director handling offshore and interior budget issues for Congressman John E. Peterson (PA-05). Jeff will lead NOIA’s outreach to state policy makers and stakeholders, facilitating communications with Congress and key agencies. Jeff will also be coordinating political areas including NOIA’s PAC and PAC Advisory Committee.

NOIA’s new Executive Assistant to the President, Faith Burns, brings with her a wealth of private and non-profit sector knowledge. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Faith quickly gravitated toward the District after graduating from Howard University, working her way from teller to Assistant Vice President of Washington Federal Savings Bank, now M&T Bank. Giving back became a mantra for Ms. Burns who faithfully served the Washington Community for over 22 years as the Administrative Officer in the Department of Student Financial Services at Howard University.

NOIA is pleased to bring on Robert V. Myers as Director of Public Affairs. Robert brings to NOIA a breadth of experience in the ever changing realm of New Media. Hailing from Florida, Robert knows firsthand the political challenges facing offshore drilling. Having worked in politics ranging from non-profit grassroots efforts with the Leadership Institute to his most recent venture with the Newt Gingrich Presidential Campaign, Robert will work on establishing a robust digital media presence for NOIA.

Finally, John Mehr, who is entering his senior year as a Political Science Major at Loyola University in New Orleans, is NOIA’s 2012 Summer Intern.
