James M. Altieri is the Senior HSSE Manager for Aker Solutions, Subsea US and is responsible for the Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental compliance for the company’s US sites. He is committed to making sure everyone goes home safely, every day. Notably, Mr. Altieri was the first employee hired for Aker Solutions’ Mobile, Alabama location, which began development in 2002. He started his career with the company as the Senior Manufacturing Manager, a position he held for more than 17 years, and in 2019, he moved into his current role.
Mr. Altieri helped build and commission the Mobile umbilical factory, opened in April 2003, and has been instrumental in successfully and safely delivering over 2 million meters of umbilical to customers for projects located around the world. In 2013, he led the implementation of Lean and 5S into the company’s US manufacturing processes. He also initiated multiple sustainability programs resulting in a 50% reduction of the Mobile facility’s carbon footprint, landing Aker Solutions the 2020 Environmental Stewardship award from the Partners for Environmental Progress. Mr. Altieri is an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Gina.
