NOIA Applauds Passage of HR 4899 Supporting More Offshore Energy Development
Washington, D.C. – National Ocean Industries Association President Randall Luthi today issued the following statement applauding passage of HR 4899:
“I applaud the House of Representatives and particularly Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings on the bi-partisan passage of the Lowering Gasoline Prices to Fuel an America that Works Act. It is safe to say that Americans want lower prices at the pump and more well-paying jobs, and this measure provides for both through increased safe development of home grown offshore energy.
“Opening up more of our Outer Continental Shelf to energy exploration and development will create thousands of new American jobs and billions of dollars in state and Federal revenues, all while decreasing our dependence on foreign oil and increasing our domestic energy security.
“The Senate should take up and pass this important bill and give the President the opportunity to support a broad based ‘all of the above’ energy policy that continues the trend away from reliance on foreign imports and towards more jobs, energy and economic security.”
