NOIA Lauds the Nomination of Joseph Balash for Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management at Interior
Washington, D.C. – National Ocean Industries Association President Randall Luthi today issued the following statement on the Nomination of Joseph Balash as Interior’s Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management.
“I applaud President Trump on his nomination of Joseph Balash to serve as the Department of the Interior Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management. Alaska is a great training ground for this position; Balash brings a wealth of experience on energy, natural resources and community relations to that hallway in Interior. His philosophy that you can have both energy development and a pristine environment, both onshore and offshore, is a welcome change of direction. His work on federal land management issues means he will be up to speed quickly at Interior. I congratulate him on his nomination and I urge his swift confirmation. The National Ocean Industries Association and our members look forward to working with Balash as Secretary Zinke and the Trump Administration chart a new path toward American energy dominance.”
