Offshore Wind Uniform Layout Proposal Shows Community Collaboration and Leadership

Washington, D.C. – National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) President Erik G. Milito issued the following statement after the five New England offshore wind lease holders announced a uniform turbine layout proposal:

“The offshore energy industry thrives with other local industries, and the burgeoning offshore wind segment is no different. By bringing to the table a uniform turbine layout proposal, the five New England offshore wind leaseholders – which include several NOIA members – are offering a viable solution to questions regarding navigational safety, fisheries considerations, distinct transit corridors and the facilitation of search and rescue operations. These leaseholders are building a collaborative approach to problem solving that will benefit all stakeholders.

“The leadership shown by these leaseholders should be thoroughly applauded. NOIA looks forward to continuing to work with them and other stakeholders as we grow the American offshore wind industry.”
