NOIA Member Spotlight
For more than 67 years, PHI has been one of the world’s leading helicopter services companies. PHI offers services to the offshore oil and gas, air medical and technical service industries. Headquartered in Lafayette, Louisiana, PHI has operated in 43 foreign countries, and has established its premiere service operations across the U.S.
The largest segment of PHI’s operations is the provision of offshore helicopter support to oil and gas companies operating in the Gulf of Mexico. Having serviced installations more than 200 miles offshore, PHI aids its customers in meeting the extensive and demanding scope of Deep-water activity. Helping support Gulf of Mexico operations is the overhaul and maintenance facility based in Lafayette, LA. This facility is considered by industry experts to be the premier facility in the world due to its technological capabilities and the experience of the staff. PHI employees conduct routine maintenance and repair work; completely overhaul engines and airframes; operate a state-of-the-art painting facility; study, design and engineer new parts and lubricants; research new procedures; and develop new techniques.
PHI has been a leader in this area for decades, flying more types of helicopters, under a greater variety of conditions, over a longer period of time, than any other civilian helicopter operator. With more than eleven million flight hours, PHI has maintained a safety record that is preeminent in the commercial helicopter industry. PHI has earned awards from the Federal Aviation Administration, the Flight Safety Foundation and from NOIA in recognition of its safety accomplishments. PHI continues to be committed to not only a safer company, but also creating a robust and industry-leading safety culture.
PHI also supports and actively seeks to employ members of the National Guard and Reserves forces. PHI has twice earned the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) “PRO PATRIA” award and has been nominated for the ESGR’s “Patriot Award.”
