Senate legislation introduced Wednesday would for the first time award money to all coastal states for energy produced off their shores.
Bill sponsors Sens. Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee’s top Republican, and Mary Landrieu (D-La.) would return up to 37.5 percent of the federal revenues generated from coastal energy development to those states.
