Technip North America
With more than 30 years of industry operational and HSES experience, Timothy W. Chetwynd oversees HSES operations within Technip North America. One of Chetwynd’s areas of expertise is assessing and developing solutions for risk/consequence mitigation, both offshore and onshore.
A graduate of the Nova Scotia Nautical Institute, much of Chetwynd’s career has been devoted to the offshore arena, including nearly 10 years with operators and contractors where he served in various capacities aboard mobile offshore drilling units (MODU) operating in the Canadian and US Arctic.
More recently, as global HSES director for Technip, his investigation of incidents and the subsequent development of root cause analysis and revision of the organization’s then-existing HSE management systems effectively reduced workplace fatalities from six in four years to zero. Chetwynd’s development and supervision of a Marine Training and Assurance group comprising 29 specialists was credited for a 50 percent reduction in recordable incident rate within three years – a company milestone.
