Senior House Republican threatens fresh Interior subpoenas

House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (R-Wash.) is threatening to play hardball with the Interior Department over what he called a lack of responsiveness to requests for documents.
“We are really out of patience with the department’s delays,” Hastings told Interior Secretary Sally Jewell at a hearing Wednesday. “The Committee will take whatever steps necessary, and that includes issuing subpoenas, to enforce these overdue requests for information.”
