Dr. Mike Paulin has 30+ years of experience in Project Management, and Arctic and offshore engineering including projects on the Canadian east coast, the Canadian Arctic, Greenland, offshore Alaska, and offshore Russia. His experience includes technical studies, innovation, concept evaluation, and structural and pipeline engineering design for harsh environments. In 2001, Mike was a co-recipient of the Hart’s E&P Special Meritorious Award for Engineering Innovation for the BP Alaska Northstar Subsea Pipeline, which was the World’s first Arctic offshore oil production pipeline.
For the past ten years, Mike has been the Operations Director for Intecsea in Canada and Global Subsector Lead, Arctic, for Worley. He has: carried out conceptual studies for major oil & gas producers with regards to proposed Alaskan pipelines; studied development scenarios for offshore Greenland, Labrador and Alaska; led offshore Arctic and sub-arctic technology development; addressed technology for operational issues; and has led engineering in support of projects globally.
Most recently, Mike has led Worley's offshore wind effort on the east coast of Canada and in 2020 completed a study "Evaluating the Technical Feasibility of Wind Energy to Electrify Oil and Gas Production Facilities Offshore Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada".
