NOIA Adds Matt Giacona as Vice President, Government Affairs

As first reported in POLITICO Influence, National Ocean Industries Association President Erik Milito is pleased to announce the hiring of Matt Giacona as Vice President, Government Affairs:

“I’m excited to announce that Matt will be joining the NOIA team. Matt has quickly demonstrated an entrepreneurial approach towards advocacy and a willingness to work with both sides of the aisle. 2023 will be a busy year for all segments of American offshore energy - oil and gas, wind, carbon sequestration and more – and NOIA will hit the ground running with Matt. I – and the entire NOIA Team – look forward to working with Matt to elevate the offshore energy industry and advance smart energy solutions."

About Matt Giacona
Matt was previously the Director, Government & Industry Affairs for the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), where he represented the industry for the past three-plus years. In his role with IADC, Matt led advocacy efforts for the organization. Matt brings with him extensive experience managing the full portfolio of government relations activities, including shaping and implementing legislative and regulatory strategy, lobbying before Congress, writing comments and engaging with the Administration, managing communications, and assisting on the broad range of related trade association efforts.

Prior to IADC, Matt worked at Venn Strategies, a boutique lobbying firm in D.C. Matt is a graduate of Michigan State University.
