NOIA Applauds Announcement of Western Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale 218
Washington, D.C. – National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) President Randall Luthi today issued the following statement in response to the announcement of a December 14, 2011 date for Western Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale 218:
“We applaud today’s announcement. Having a firm date now gives a greater assurance that the sale will indeed take place. This sale marks a key step toward restoring American jobs. We look forward to continuing to work with the agency in ensuring clarity and efficiency in the leasing and permitting process while safely providing the offshore energy resources that help fuel America and our economy.”
NOIA is the only national trade association representing all segments of the offshore industry with an interest in the exploration and production of both traditional and renewable energy resources on the nation’s outer continental shelf. The NOIA membership comprises more than 270 companies engaged in business activities ranging from producing to drilling, engineering to marine and air transport, offshore construction to equipment manufacture and supply, telecommunications to finance and insurance.
